About Us

Midwest Hunting Adventures was founded by Scott Wilson in 2006.

His love for the sport started when he was only 5.  Over the years he has setup, guided, and provided others, hunting adventures that have added to their memories.  Our goal is to provide our family owned properties for others to experience what we have for the past years.  At the same time we have secured and will continue to secure properties to offer our fellow hunters, as well.  In addition to your experience with us, we will also feature other outfitters in the Midwest that we highly recommend to help you find that adventure you are looking for.

It is our focus to help you and your hunting party, secure the best available hunting adventure available with no worries.  Our staff will recommend, help setup, support your adventure, and aid you in some great Midwest hunts, while assuring you and your party the adventure you are after.

Our mission is simple:  To offer our fellow hunters a hunting Adventure.  We achieve this by are highly qualified staff and personal experiences.  All our staff members work hard to manage the wildlife through harvest and it is that we strive to bring to our customers.  We feel that key to the future of hunting is our youth of today.  We strive very hard and donate many of hours to educate our local youth through many programs.

Guides

    Scott Wilson:

A native of Missouri has followed the ducks form South Dakota to Arkansas for the past years.  He started hunting waterfowl on the Mississippi river.  Not only a waterfowl hunter he aided the turkey and deer wildlife population on approx. 500 acres in Monroe County, Missouri.  He has a knack for managing wildlife and understands the passion others share with him.  He is not a world class duck caller, but you may not know that when you experience the ducks falling from the sky and landing 20yds. out in your decoys.  You will not hear him boost about his wall hangers either.  Scott enjoys what he does and more than anything loves to watch others experience what he has to offer.  He lost his hunting companion De”Coy” on January 6, 2007, at the age of 8.  You will enjoy your adventure regardless of the species you are after.

    Doug Wilmert:

Doug has a lot of waterfowl experience.  This is a guy that when he is not working to help others enjoy a hunt, will still be in the duck blind.  He was born to hunt waterfowl and lives to hunt ducks.  His calling style has landed him countless bands and several rewarded bands over the years.  If a duck or goose fly’s over and has a band – I can guarantee you Doug will make sure that bird is harvested out of the group.  Doug has hunted many states for waterfowl and has hunted and called side by side with some of the best waterfowl callers in the world.  A hunt with Doug is assured Adventure.  In addition to waterfowl hunting Doug brings great upland bird hunting instincts. Doug lost his hunting companion on May 3, 2006 after Casey gave him 13 years of great times.

    Ben Blankenship:

Although the youngest of the guides at 25, he has been hunting since he was able to walk.  Brought up hunting over championship labs, he has seen some great dog work on his harvested birds.  We owe his ability to work ducks to his grandfather.  Ray taught Ben everything he knows about duck hunting and gave Ben the opportunity to fine tune his waterfowl hunting to join our staff.  Hunting with Ben will be one that you will enjoy.  Ben has the ability to have a number of ducks land in front of him and be able to sweet talk them to the water.  Ben offers a top quality hunting retriever that you will be assured not to have to leave the blind to retrieve a duck.

    Russ Kasper:

Born to hunt deer!  Has hunted and managed deer since a young age.  He currently guides for us on several properties we manage along with ground he owns in Adair County, Missouri.  With his countless hours of working on the properties, he will offer you the best opportunity to see that trophy you have come for.   His ability to understand proper management and willingness to work harder in the off season to assure a great harvest is second to none.  Although he is still young in turkey hunting, time in the woods has offered our turkey clients an excellent hunt.  He knows the wildlife on the properties he manages.  At times we think he even has named a few of the animals and talks to them as we share a hunt with him.

    John Wilson:

Offers a low key approach but a very successful hunting adventure when it comes to deer hunting.  John will aid your setup and share with you the tactics he has used thousand of times to down a deer on our properties.  Once you have harvested the deer he aids in your retrieval and will help prepare it for transportation.  John is also one of our Mark Twain Crappie guides.  Again, his laid back manners offer you a very relaxing, but enjoyable trip.  Got kids – take them along!  John caters to the youth and helps them understand how to fish and how to handle bait and fish.
